Hillary Clinton's Career Highlights

Early Life and Education

Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton was born on October 26, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wellesley College and a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School.

Political Career

Clinton began her political career as an attorney in Arkansas. She served as Arkansas' First Lady from 1979 to 1981 and again from 1983 to 1992, during which time she played an active role in her husband Bill Clinton's political campaigns.

In 2001, Clinton was elected as a United States Senator from New York. She served until 2009, when she was appointed United States Secretary of State by President Barack Obama. She held this position until 2013.

In 2016, Clinton ran for President of the United States as the Democratic nominee. She lost the election to Republican Donald Trump.
